Description
The Coneflower ‘Butterfly Kisses’ (Echinacea purpurea) is a charming perennial known for its compact, bushy growth habit and attractive, double-flowered blooms. This cultivar features fragrant, vibrant pink flowers with darker pom-pom centers surrounded by lighter pink ray petals. The plant typically grows to about 1 to 1.5 feet tall, making it perfect for patio containers, sunny borders, and mixed plantings.
‘Butterfly Kisses’ is also favored for its ability to attract butterflies, particularly Monarchs, and is deer-resistant, making it a great addition to a wildlife-friendly garden (Burpee) (Heritage Perennials). This cultivar blooms from mid-summer to early fall, and with regular deadheading, it can continue to flower for an extended period. It thrives in full sun and can tolerate a range of soil types, from normal to sandy or clay, as long as the soil is well-draining.
