The Tastes of Wild Michigan w/ Ken Asmus of Oikos Tree Crops
Join us SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH from 1-3 PM!
This two hour class will take you on a trip of foraging, cultivation and use of little know and appreciated plants used for their nutrition and health benefits. Some are weeds, some are wild, some are common garden plants and some are well known cultivated crops. From wild corn to thimbleberries, this workshop will allow you to taste some of the lesser known plants that grow here in Michigan, as well as, tips on growing and harvesting these wild crops in your backyard. Seeds will be given out to all participants with directions on growing them. Ken Asmus owner of Oikos Tree Crops will be highlighting some of the experiences he had when he operated his nursery and discoveries he found right in our own backyard of Michigan.
Cost is $20 and seats are limited to 20 participants.
