Join Dan Cohen of Bay City for a lively look into the newest craze in suburban sustainable agriculture. Dan is a leader in custom, backyard chicken coop architecture and building. He will show you what it takes to keep chickens in your own yard. We will have everything from a display of his latest chicken coops, live chickens, and all the necessary tools and supplies to set up your own Poultry Palace with the help of our friends from Uncle Luke's Feed Store in Troy.

Beekeeper and presenter Rich Wieske will describe the ins and outs of keeping bees and the process of producing honey. A bee activist and educator, Rich has been featured on local TV and is a firm believer in organic methods, including chemical- and treatmentfree beekeeping. His affiliates, City Bees Detroit and Green Toe Gardens, have organized urban bee conferences and run several bee school programs each year. Several kinds of locally-made honey will be available for purchase.
